I had visions of running errands and accomplishing lots of things outside the house this afternoon, but something I ate last night decided to disagree with me today, so looks like I'm not going anywhere for a while. (I don't think it's food poisoning, because I should've gotten sick within about six hours of eating, right?) So, time to work

I like your choices for the other kids future careers especially Finn and Artie. What are Kurt and Blaine doing in this verse? Sorry, I've not read 'Scholars & Gentleman'.

Kurt and Blaine are both kind of in limbo. Blaine spends a good deal of this fic terrified that he's just spent years on a Ph.D. in History for nothing and that nobody is ever going to hire him as a professor. Kurt has a degree in Design and wants to have a job in that field, but for various reasons (actually, not really various--just one significant, very non-shippy reason) hasn't gotten to where he wants to be yet.

Maybe have Mercedes do something in fashion merchandising? Or a nurse? I could see her being a really good nurse.
I could see Carole giving Kurt and Blaine a painting of some sort. I'm trying to think of the things we got for our wedding that meant the most, and the painting right above me right now is probably #1.

Nurse could definitely work. I like that. Thank you!

Weirdly, I can imagine Carole giving them something hilariously practical in front of everyone (world's greatest toaster? that blender that can chop up golf clubs?) and then privately giving them, like, something that belonged to Christoper--something that says "No, seriously, you're my family, Burt or no Burt."
But wev. This is so exciting.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I think I've got an idea...
I love the idea she gives them something practical in front of everyone else. Oooh, if I wanted to be a little evil, that could be a coffeemaker! Carole and Mrs. Blaine's Mom get along really well, but I can't resist.
