F1 2009 - a WTFkery

Mar 18, 2009 15:27

I havent really been talking about F1 in the last few months. for a number of reasons:
a) I detest the "silly season" and try to keep my knowledge of the various stupidities of rumour etc to a minimum - it only pisses me off;
b) I still can't think about what happened at the end of the last season without the fear of smashing my teeth in jaw-clenching rage.

That said there have been a few developments in the last few weeks that seem noteworthy:
a) it appears McLaren have fahked up their 2009 car. *cue Muttley-esquee sniggers from K8*
b) Ferrari meanwhile have not *cue full out giggling from K8*
c) Honda Brawn GP seem to have made a super quick car *cue a stunned  OMFGWTF? face from K8*
d) The BBC say that they will use Fleetwood Mac "The Chain" as F1 music again and state that it will not be "The Lewis show" *K8 dances the dance of joy*
e) The new points system means that there is a strong likihood that Jenson Button, rather than Lewis Hamilton will be the 2009 darhling of the British public. This should lead to a high amount of  K8 vindication, due to fickle and traitorous fair-weather supporters suddenly finding that its no longer looking like time for Pimms. I shall LAUGH.
f) But alas it is a sad, sad day as Jean Todt has left Ferrari after 15 years with the prancing horse. With the retirement of Schumacher and Ross Brawn buying Honda it became very clear that he wasnt going to "come home" and now this means less and less of the old red guard are left. It makes me a bit teary, and only adds to the "what the fuck happened to my life" feeling I have had in ever increasing amounts over the last 12 months.

f1, rage, rant
