Summer isn't as busy here as it is for some people but it's still filling up alarmingly quickly. Lots of friends are visiting, as are my mother and sister. There's Tua's teaching job from late June to the end of July, a trip to Maine, preaching, studying, and writing galore. Not to mention daily walks in the woods and struggles with raspberries. Then there's
astrobolism's wedding in August, which is like the cherry on the ice cream sundae that is my summer.
Been reading some awesome books, among which are Martti Nissinen's Homoeroticism in the Biblical World, which I believe must be read by all Jews and all Christians, and The Yahwist's Landscape, which is an analysis and theology of J's vision of the human as small farmer, a great ecological vision.
Strawberries are blossoming all over the hills and woods. In a month or so, Tua and I will be able to take picnics up there and simply gather wild strawberries for dessert (and come home with pink splotches on our butts).
