Recently I've been binging all three seasons of The Fall at the house in the Media Cave. Every so often a book I'm interested in reading is offered on Amazon as a digital textbook rather than a regular ebook.

Invariably, these books are several times more expensive than a similar book that has not been chosen as a textbook.  Ditto for the hard copy, even the used hard copies.  Even renting the digital or hard copy is more expensive ( Read more... )

On a comparative basis, taboos seem to make no sense at all, as what may be declared unfit for one group by custom or religion may be perfectly acceptable to another.
