Got an "emergency" assignment dropped on me today, with no prior warning, which I guess is how emergencies work. Except it isn't a real emergency -- no court deadline, no statutory deadline, just somebody higher up the org chart suddenly wants to see movement on something that has been on my plate for 10 months. It went well! Over an hour, and I had to end it artificially by saying that I need to get back to work. I don't mean I lied, I do have to get back to work, I mean the conversation could have kept going if it weren't the middle of my work day.

We agreed to have another phone date soon, next time with video, so I can see his pretty blue eyes :-)

I did leave the house a bit after Noon, and played tabletop MtG with Steve, David, and David until I had to leave after 5pm.
