I think this is similar to what some other models have predicted -- another model is observing an average time period of 1.8 years between COVID infections without vaccination.  YMMV.

If you had an Omicron infection back when it was BA.1, over the Christmas/New Year period, then you're 80% protected against the BA.5 variant that is circulating right now.  Cool.  Between that and the three original shots, I should be OK for a while.  Waiting for the BA.5 shot this fall ( Read more... )

It's not official yet, but the FDA's advisory board has approved modifying the COVID vaccine formulas to include Omicron.  The updated shots from Moderna and Pfizer will be available late summer or early fall.  Of course, by then an entirely new COVID variant could arise, but we're finally updating the shots for a more recent variant.  It sounds ( Read more... )

A reputable scientist I follow on Twitter for his reliable COVID data is upset that a federal judge overruled the CDC on whether people must wear masks on public transit. He said judges should not be able to decide these public health questions, public health experts should decide.
