Yes, Jury Duty is ON for tomorrow
My number isn't even close to the last number called, there was never a chance I'd be excused. So I'll have to report at 8:30am. It's about a 30-minute drive from the house without traffic, so I'll pad that by 15-30 minutes tomorrow.
I will bring a book or two (and my reading glasses)! So I won't be on my phone all day burning up the battery. If I am selected for a trial, the courthouse is closed on Thursday and Friday for the holiday. Before I leave I'll log into my work laptop to set an "out of office" message. I'll bring a protein shake and a couple Clif bars. I'll iron some business casual clothes before bed tonight.
Although there could be interesting moments in this process I know that mainly it involves a lot of sitting around.
As my job really doesn't stop while I'm away, I may need to use some of the four-day weekend to catch up, we'll see. Also, we still don't know whether T will be here or not. Although I know I'm reporting to the court tomorrow, the rest of my week is still up in the air, which irks me.
I did calm down after I got home and had lunch with T -- ended up napping with Astrid in my bed. Now we'll have leftovers for dinner and I'll continue relaxing.
