short week almost over

Jun 01, 2023 19:49

Out of bed at 7am, needed to be out of the house by 8am, drove B to his condo, then myself to Metro, and worked downtown. Back home, cooked dinner for myself, now resting on the sofa.

One more work day this week, a telework day! I'll be tempted to quit early and play with toys.

B is coming back over on Saturday morning, our last weekend of Pinworm Quarantine. We want to watch some soccer together, then not sure what else.

No intoxication tonight, because I'd like to run in the morning, but we have some ground-level smoke from a fire up in New Jersey, so it might not be healthy for me to run outside tomorrow. Some areas in the DC Metro are Code Orange or Code Red right now. We'll see what the air quality is when I wake tomorrow.

Yesterday I had that long day of solid meetings. When they were over, I went to pick up B, made dinner for him, then we went out to the hot tub until after dark. After brushing teeth, we snuggled in bed while listening to music. It felt so pleasant and relaxing.

I woke with a shock at 6am after sleeping through the night -- usually I have to get up to pee, but I was dehydrated from everything yesterday, including starting my day with that 5-mile run. But B was still sleeping and shifted back into snuggle mode, so I rested in bed with the snuggles for an hour. At 7am I had to get up, because B needed us to leave by 8am and I needed to commute. I ate breakfast quickly, then did my grooming quickly. He did the dishes and fed the cats while I showered and dressed, yay! Having him over is like family, he practically lives here. He knows how to do the chores.

I'm starting to fall into the pattern of What Needs to be Completed Before Portland.

It looks like B will be able to take care of the house and cats while I'm gone, with Moose as a backup.

To my surprise the House passed the debt limit bill, and it goes on to the Senate. Now we get to see what kinds of perks the holdout Senators will demand to allow a timely vote. The financial markets are acting like the risk of default has pretty much passed. So, was I worried for no reason? I dunno. How do you assess the risk of something that has never occurred? The Speaker is holding together his tiny majority better than almost anybody expected. But, let's see what the Senate does.

-----

Not sure what to do between now and sleepytime. I'll probably do some laundry tomorrow, but B said no need to do the big bed's bedding again, he said it is only us2 and we'll sleep in it again on Saturday. I'll feel better about all the Pinworm Prevention crap after the second dose we'll take on Saturday works its way through my system.

OK, Bug, just relax tonight, do whatever you want then go to bed.

brian, thursday night
