The approaching Holiday Season is beginning to feel like a social traffic jam for the first time since before COVID.
This Saturday isn't even technically within the Holiday Season yet, but I've been invited to more events than I could accept, plus I want to go to the monthly spanking party. T and I have a social traffic jam on the first weekend in December also, when DavidF is visiting and T is torn between NY and DC due to his work holiday party.
My extended family is so jammed up already we couldn't schedule our Bug Family Christmas gathering until January 7th.

A friend who I chat with frequently and who I invited to my several recent Game Days is having a birthday party on Saturday evening. I didn't learn about this party until Wednesday, when T asked me whether I wanted to go with him.
I was puzzled why I didn't receive a direct invitation via text, when I text with this person frequently. T also asked B to go along, and so last night I asked B, "You and I have both socialized with this birthday guy in person recently, why didn't he reach out to us directly with an invitation?"
B replied, "It's probably a Facebook invitation, and we aren't on Facebook."
Oh, right. So we get the late second-hand invitation from T, who is still on Facebook.
Don't act like a Facebook invite is enough, people. We aren't all on Facebook. There can be friendships and social lives outside of Facebook.
