Last night I set strict limits for myself on when I'd stop drinking (9pm) and when I'd go to bed (10pm), and I stuck to these limits (out of fear for this morning LOL), and had no problem falling asleep and sleeping through the night, even though I'm heading back to the office today. I even drank light beers with 1/3 less alcohol than my usual LOL. Woke up refreshed with no anxiety, though hungry because I'd skipped dinner to play with toys. I stretched before eating breakfast, but yoga would've been too much on such an empty stomach. My back is feeling much better -- I really needed the hot tub and toy time to relax, whew! Now I'm wondering whether to chill on the sofa until 8am before showering, or to get ready early so I can get to the office early, so I can leave early, so I can cook dinner early, etc.
Definitely making progress compared to last week with stress about Return To Office. Yesterday afternoon I held a virtual meeting with my workgroup to talk about how it has gone for me so far -- the rest of them Return next week, but managers were told to go in two weeks before everybody else. I think this was a good decision, it allowed me to acclimate before helping others to do so, and now as questions pop up I can tell people how I did that, stuff like mapping to the new printer.
I texted local David about coming over but he's already out of town for his summer break from law school, will get back in about 4 weeks. Ben is hoping to feel well enough to come over to see me next week. Oh, it will be his birthday week, so I paused to order a present for him, so, yeah, let's chill until 8am here before tackling the commute.
So far I've worn casual clothes to the office, few people are there yet. Perhaps next week I'll level up to my khakis, if any of them still fit me. I'm feeling fat although my belt loops tell me I'm about the same size as I was two years ago. But I'm not a skinny boy, I'm a bearish muscularish bearded 54-year old who wears size Large for both pants and shirts. Still hoping to lose more weight as we move into Summer ...
