Yesterday afternoon a gunman started shooting from his high-rise apartment window into one of the wealthier and whiter neighborhoods of northwest DC.
The police response was massive -- dozens of units, entire neighborhoods cordoned off and evacuated, massive manhunt, suspect apprehended (but shot himself as police barged in).
Nobody died, luckily. But in the wealthier and whiter neighborhoods of DC, this isn't supposed to happen, I mean, indiscriminate shootings.
Those are for the poorer and blacker neighborhoods. In 2021 --> 93% of homicide victims in DC were black, 4% were white.
33 black women were murdered in DC last year, 0 -- zero -- 0 white women were murdered in DC last year.
The crime I experience in DC, when I stay in a condo near Dupont Circle in wealthier northwest DC, is not the crime people experience in other parts of DC. Especially the crime black women experience.
Defund the police who protect white people, 'cause there sure ain't enough police who protect black people.
