I made out with girls plenty when I was very young, like 2nd grade, but as they became more socialized, it became more of a turnoff to me ... all the dresses and makeup and daintyness. Girls were more fun well before puberty, in my recollection.

I don't mean this in a bad way, but I think I'm gay, and a feminist, and so on, because as I watched what happened to girls as they grew up, I did not want that to happen, I did not want to be part of that. I didn't want to become a straight man either. All that gender-growing-up stuff felt horrible to me. Being gay was a refuge.

I experienced gender as oppression.
