Name: Jody Fischer
Age: 10
Hometown/Region: Ecruteak / Johto
Class: Lass
Team: Technically, Jody never caught any of her Pokémon. She’s just super cool that way.
Psyduck ♂ (Lax; Cloud Nine) - Jody’s first Pokémon -- it started following her around when she was seven years old. She loves it immensely, and will often introduce herself by holding it forward and saying ‘Hi, I’m Jody, and this is my Psyduck!’ Psyduck is pretty clueless, but she loves it all the more for that.
Hoppip ♀ (Docile; Chlorophyll) - Floated in Jody’s general direction one day, after which Jody tied a string around it and started bringing it with her, like a balloon (Hoppip is her favourite Pokémon, and she’d always wanted one). Hoppip doesn’t seem to mind.
Farfetch’d ♂ (Jolly; Keen Eye) - When Jody wandered into Route 38, a Farfetch’d saved her from being attacked by a Tauros. It’s stuck with her ever since, apparently trying to protect her from further Tauros attacks.

Appearance:
kinda like the Lass from HG/SS
Jody is 4’7” and about 70 pounds - she’s pretty twiggy. She has light skin with a bit of a tan. Her hair is dark brown, straight, in a messy bob cut to her chin, and she’ll usually wear some kind of hair clip or accessory in it. She has bright green eyes and a light smattering of freckles across her nose. She wears jumpers or skirts - never pants. Her default facial expression is grinning from ear to ear, ha ha.

History:
Alan Fischer, a native of Viridian City, had always dreamed big. He was raised in a large, dirt poor family, and joined Team Rocket at the age of twelve with the hopes of becoming the mysterious leader’s right-hand-man. His passion and drive helped him rise quickly through the ranks, becoming a top executive at the age of twenty. At twenty-two he married his first wife, Anna, and had four children - a boy, two girls, and another boy - with her over the next eight years, all of whom were groomed to become Team Rocket members. At the age of forty, Team Rocket set its plans for world domination in motion, but Giovanni was defeated by a mysterious boy and Team Rocket was sent into hiding. Alan divorced Anna and moved his children to Ecruteak, Johto, to help organize Team Rocket’s revival there; there, he re-married a young woman named Kamilah (who was twenty-eight), who brought her year-old daughter into the family. That girl was Jody, father unknown.

Little attention was paid to Jody by her father over the next three years, as he was extremely busy. She was raised by her mother, who found herself in a somewhat cold and abusive relationship, and the sister closest in age to her, who was fourteen at the time. At the age of four, Team Rocket came back into being…and was subsequently crushed. Alan disappeared, leaving Kamilah (age 31) to raise the family. By then, though, eldest son Jordan was 21 and eldest daughter Dana was 18, and both had left home to find their own way in the world; that left Mia (15), Michael (13), and Jody (4).

Money was tight, but the family was close-knit and loving. Jody grew into a peppy, cheery kid who isn’t that smart but is pretty bright, with a love for wandering and a penchant for getting lost, which is why she was banned from leaving the city limits. At the age of seven, on the way home from school, a curious Psyduck suddenly started following her, and she decided that it was hers. At the age of eight, a Hoppip drifted in her direction and, since Hoppip is her favourite Pokémon, she tied a string around it and has kept it ever since.

When she was nine, a bout of curiosity drew her west of town. Wandering in the tall grass, she was suddenly attacked by a wild Tauros, and might have been killed had the Tauros not been driven off by a wild Farfetch’d. It’s stuck with her since the incident, which Jody was punished for with dinner without dessert.

At the age of ten, Jody decided she was ready to become a Pokémon master - as well as look for her fathers. She knew about Alan, but had only recently learned that she is the child of another man. Her mother (now 37) really didn’t want her to go, since at this point Mia is twenty-one and Michael is nineteen, and both had left home. But Jody had made up her mind, and there’s no stopping Jody once she’s made up her mind. So, with her mother’s blessing and a new wallet with a bit of cash, Jody has made her first brave steps into the wide, wide world…

Personality:
What is there not to say about Jody? She’s a handful of a ten-year-old. She’s peppy, cheerful and loud - she hasn’t quite hit that age where you learn to shut up and not say everything that comes to mind. She’ll interrupt you to tell you that she saw a pretty cloud or that her fingers are tingly. She doesn’t think about anything too hard, preferring to stay in the moment, and when faced with any kind of dilemma will always follow her first impulse. She’ll throw herself into everything face-first.

Everything about life is new, exciting and amazing to her, so her expressions go from ear-to-ear grin to wide-eyed, open-mouthed stare. Jody experiences life in high definition - she’s never just ‘happy’ or sad’, but instead overjoyed or crushed or outraged or what-have-you. The simplest things fill her with glee, but something an adult might find silly like a store being out of her favourite flavour of ice cream will reduce her to tears.

Jody does have a part of her that desperately wants to be loved and accepted. From time to time she gets bouts of homesickness, but doesn’t call home - she doesn’t want her mother to know, because she thinks it makes her weak. But there are times when she’ll really, really want a hug, and at those times she’ll walk up to strangers and ask for one.

Her biggest fear is of being stampeded to death by Tauros. She often has nightmares of that day.

Sample I: aagh why is this so depressing

Your Pokémon, or your friend's, have been kidnapped by Team Rocket.

[The PNG turns on, revealing Jody’s beet-red face. Her lower lip is shaking.]

P-Psyduck?

Psyduck? Hoppip? F-Farf-fetch’d?

W-where are they? Are they hurt? Are they scared? Did you hurt them?

W-why…why d-did you t-t-take them?

Give them b-back! Give them back! Give me back my Psyduck!

[Jody shakes the PNG, then bursts into tears, dropping the unit. The screen gives a detailed, sideways view of her shoes before she sinks to her knees.]

I want my Psyduck! P-please! I-I’ll give you…I’ll give you my hair clips! And my shoes! And my -

[She sobs loudly, and collapses to the ground.]

PLEASE!

Sample II:
You have encountered a rare or otherwise desirable Pokémon, but have no Pokéballs on hand.

It was the early in the afternoon when Jody finally navigated her way out of the Ilex Forest, and stumbled into Azalea Town. Grinning to herself (it hadn’t been that bad - except for the bugs), she tied Hoppip’s string onto her backpack, hefted it higher on her shoulders, and started wandering through town.

She decided, very quickly, that she liked Azalea. Unlike Goldenrod, which had been really neat but moved a little too quickly, Azalea tasted like home. Sure, it was a little warmer, but something about the stillness and quiet made her heart feel lighter, and her grin widened.

It was then that she noticed the Pokémon looking at her, and she stopped dead in her tracks. It was - so pink, so cuddly-looking -

“ - So cute!”

She raced over, Psyduck complaining about the sudden change of direction, and knelt down to look eye-to-eye with the Slowpoke. It eyed her, confused, and for ten seconds the two were caught in a strange tableaux. Then it yawned and slowly began to move away.

“Wait! Don’t go!” She grabbed it by the tail, but it wriggled out of her grasp.

“Hey! You!” She looked up; there was an old man standing on the front porch of a house. “What in the world are you doing, young lady?”

She turned towards him, surprised. “Trying to make friends with this Slowpoke, mister! But it’s -” she turned back towards the Slowpoke, which was slowly making its way towards a nearby well. “ - Running away, I guess.”

He shook his head. “You’re not allowed to - make friends with the Slowpoke here. They’re special to us.” A small smile etched its way onto his face as he stepped over, offering his hand. “I’m Kurt. What’s your name, young lady?”

Jody grinned. “I’m Jody. And this,” she gestured towards Psyduck, “is my Psyduck!”
