Volunteering?
I'm interested in finding groups (preferably young-adult but not necessary) that volunteer in KC. I contacted the Junior League to get information from them but no one ever got back to me--I'm not sure it would be for me anyway. I asked a friend about Bacchus but he said, in so many words, they mostly raise money by getting hammered at parties that ask for donations. From what I've seen in pictures and from people who I know are involved, that seems pretty accurate (and not to put them down but that's not really what I'm looking for).
In Lawrence I worked for the Boys and Girls Club leading a Kindergarten class and LOVED it, so anything focusing on kids would be great. I'm also really interesting in anything involving the arts and anything about the environment/being green. I've been Googling but figured there might be some insider tips here. Thanks!
