Non-lucid, good recall: Game, Level, SD Cards and Wasteland

Jan 09, 2011 23:24

I saw TRON: Legacy yesterday, and that may or may not have affected this one, so I should mention it here just in case.

The dream started out in a room of some kind that was made of glass or the like, as it was black, hard and reflective. The room gave me the impression of being well lit, though it was really quite dark, all things considered. The room was rectangular and quite large, at somewhere around forty by seventy square feet in area, and perhaps eighty to ninety feet in height. I was standing with my back facing a door a little bit to the right of the center of the room on a long side. There was another one even further to the right in the corner on the opposite side, as well as one in the center of the far left wall, as seen below. Each set of pillars or whatever you want to call them down there is a marker for a closed door.

Each surface in the room was glowing a bit, and each crease or corner was marked by a neon red and orange line, that looked as if it would burn to the touch if one tried to do so. The door on the far left had a blank space to either side of it, and if you looked down into it you would see some very large pulsating neon orange and red pipes, as if to warn of danger beyond this point. I should also mention that on the opposite side of the room from the entrance where I came in was a raised platform, and it was on top of this that the third door rested. There was perhaps a four or five foot ledge at the top, but as it got closer to me it had smaller ledges sticking out here and there as if to look like slate rock that one could climb on. Each subsequent step was about a half foot in width, so there was just enough room to stand on if you were careful. This was the most colorful part of the room, as anything above ground level was marked with blue at the creases instead of the orange and red. I took these to be deliberate examples of warm and cool colors, and would opt for the cooler colors if possible.

I came to notice at this point that there was a woman in a white night dress standing close to the door to the left, and it became apparent to me that I was supposed to carry her through to the door at the top of the would-be stairs. She was beautiful, but not ridiculously so. Or, I did not think much else of it, other than the aesthetic part of it. Not at the time, at least. I made to grab her, but she was not as well behaved as I had expected, and she struggled, causing me to make her to fall back into the opening to the right of the door that she was in front of. 'Well, that would not do,' I thought. 'I cannot complete the mission without her to bring through the door there.' But, I waited, and, sure enough, her form appeared with some transparency above the floor where she had been standing before. She soon appeared completely and fell back into her spot again before righting herself. Not wanting any funny business this time, I changed form into a kind of small liquidized metallic figure and extended a fist at her, knocking her out. She fell somewhat close to the opening again, but not close enough to cause worry this time. I then turned back into myself and picked her up, putting her under my arm for ease of use. I then set about making my way up the steps and to the door without trouble, taking only a minute or so. When I got there, however, she dissipated into a bunch of white participles which then floated upwards before disappearing. She then reappeared down on the floor below me again, and I got to thinking. 'I must have to get her to go through willingly, then,' was the only thing that came to mind.

I jumped down several steps at a time and came up to about ten feet in front of her before calling out to her and beckoning with my hand. This yielded no response save her taking a step back towards the wall, so I tried another approach. I circled around behind her, facing the stairs, and urged her forward, coming towards her as I did so. This yielded results, and she moved as I wanted, so long as I followed her closely and from the right direction. She seemed to warm up to me a bit by the time that we got to the stairs, so that was not as much of a hassle, and I could just follow in a general sense at this point. We got to the top without a problem, but I turned around and had her stop before going through the door for a second. There were now a few large SD Cards floating and spinning in place on their corners, as if on a table, around the room. There was one on the floor and two on the stairs, and the three were of different colors. They were all predominately black, but they had colored text assigning their value in GB on each side of them, and there were three types that I could see. There were red, yellow and green cards in the room, so one of each. I went around and collected them all before going and walking the woman through the door. The mission was completed.

Soon after crossing through the door, however, I had a craving for more cards, and made for it once again. This room was also black, but I did not get a good look at it before turning around, and it more of a placeholder than anything for now. This time, however, I turned myself into a small girl with pig tails and a white one-piece child's dress. Also, upon walking into the room again, I could not help but notice a peculiar change; it was not the same room at all, but a kind of lounge where some young people were sitting and hanging out. It was a good deal smaller than the last one, and for perhaps three or four feet around its edge it was a raised platform for walking on, and in the center was an indented or lowered area where sat some chairs and bean bags as well as a sofa with people sitting on them. In any event, the girl extended her right arm out into the air and twisted her wrist, so that it looked as if she was trying to grab something out of the air. I perceived this, oddly enough, as the casting of a wind and water type jutsu, as if from Naruto. As soon as she did this, a small glowing green twister sprang from her hand in a straight line, as a continuation of her forearm. It had some substance to it, as would explain the color, but I could not say what that substance was. As soon as it was fully formed, it began to snake out into seven or eight smaller twisters, and then more, until it had one reaching out to every person there and then some. After a few seconds in which everyone struggled against their own personal arm of wind, each one retracted into the original, and each brought with it one or more SD Cards. Spread across the original pillar's length were ten to fifteen cards of varying color, though all were of the same large size, which was perhaps twice the size of a real one. The cards were colored like so: the red cards were as such because they had text that read 6GB in red on them, the yellows 4GB, and the green ones 2GB. I seem to recall there being a blue one without a number marking on it on the table in the background, but that is an afterthought.

After admiring the look of the wind and cards inside of it extending from her hand with a smile, and ignoring the indignant stares from the people on the level below, she twisted her hand back a fraction, and the cards began to retract into her hand in a neat pile that was obviously made for grabbing. While the cards were doing this, however, a man wearing an obnoxious red and yellow cape came by and grabbed a few of the cards; one red, one yellow, and one green, so that he had one of each. The girl was not truly me, as evidenced by my thought process and use of the word girl, but I soon took over and had my arms, rather than hers, reaching out and taking the larger of the two cards back, while he took another 4GB card before making a run for it, though I am not sure where he ran to.

Not willing to waste my time here, I went back through the door again and took the SD Cards to a stack of cases in the middle of the room on a kind of table there. This room was carpeted, and I was the girl again here, though it was more of me this time, and not so detached as before. This room had a sloping floor that went uphill from the door until about halfway into the room, where it raised by several feet and then continued on as a flat surface, forming the table mentioned earlier. Well, I came up to it and picked up a case, and began sliding cards into it. It was rather like a CD rack, though it was clear and folded up, and was clearly fitted to these large cards. While working with it, my mother showed up and began taking over with her own half-filled case or two. I got rather ticked off my this, as I did not want them to get mixed, but she said that it was to save space, so I did nothing. That is all I remember here.

Now I came to be at the one who had stolen the cards' house, and it was made of the same kind of black reflective service as the others, though it was decidedly more home-like in atmosphere. He was playing a game on a very large flat-screen TV with a friend of his, and was using a Sony PSP as a controller, with one of my SD Cards in it. I saw another of the cards laying on the coffee table next to me, but did nothing other than stand there in the resentment at his good fortune and stolen goods. That is all here.

Next, I was on a white and red hover board in some kind of earthen half-pipe racetrack. Outside of the track could be seen a lush and deeply green jungle kind of place, and the entire thing was very colorful and bright by comparison to the last dream. It was also daytime here, and the sun could be seen high in the sky if one looked up. That is not something I notice often in my dreams.

There were several others here on the track with me, and we all appeared to be racing, though I got the feeling that there was no finish line for us to reach any time soon. The other contestants were not quite human, though I am not sure how to describe them. It may help to mention that this part reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog, however, and that they had that kind of animal-like quality to them, as well as texture. There is also the fact that there were golden rings in swooping lines along the track that I would aim for and collect along my way.

At some point down the line, perhaps a mile or so, however, I came across another path that diverged from our own if you were going the opposite way down the track. Curious, I turned around and made my way to it, though I was fighting the wind my whole way there. It seemed that the wind flowed through the track in a one-way stream, which was probably a part of what allowed the race to go on there. When I made it to this other path, however, the wind was stronger than ever, and it was more like a tunnel than a path, as it had a roof and went underground rather than over it. The wind forced me to get off of my board and crawl through it, and when I did so I found that the ground here was made of a kind of moist spongy earth-like material that was almost rubbery if you could bend it just far enough. I climbed through this tunnel for quite some time. And that is all that I remember here.

Next I found myself in some kind of alcove, and I felt that I had come here after crawling through the tunnel mentioned above, though the setting was quite different, and everything was well lit. Everything was well lit all of the way throughout the dream, but it was a different kind in each place, and the same happened here. It was a shaded kind of light, though no clarity was lost at all. Well, first of all, there was a man in red armor standing behind me, and he was warning me about a pool that was right in front of me. The ground around me was covered with moss and small foliage, and was soft to the touch, and so strange to walk on. The pool was laid into a deep cavity that just roundly dropped off into a dark purple liquid with hints of green here and there, though the water did not seem to be unstable, as there was a girl standing on it. She looked to be a bit older than me, with short, straight black hair, and was wearing some light brightly colored armor as well as wielding a thin curved sword. She appeared to be fighting some kind of rat monster that was walking on two legs and wielding a club of some kind. I stepped forward to help her, but the man behind me told me not to step into the pool, because I was not a high enough level and would dissipate if I did so. I watched the girl as she picked her steps carefully, and could now see a kind of static-like distortion in the water wherever she did not step. Ignoring his warnings, I stepped forward, sure that I could watch my footing as she had done. She saw me and unstrapped and pulled out a long knife before throwing it to me, so I stepped down to join her.

As soon as I set foot on the surface, however, I was sucked down onto it and was stuck flat on my back, with no way to get up. It was as if gravity had been raised tenfold when I was laying, and it was all that I could do to move at all. I manage to arch my back and pull the knife up, stabbing down into the space into where my back had been, over and over, hoping that it would loosen the pull or something like that. I did this successfully four or five times. But, alas, it was to no avail. I recall looking from under the water, and thinking about how peaceful this must have been for the ones before me, as I disappeared into nothingness, and my vision faded. It is not often that I die in my dreams. Well, I did not die traditionally, but it was the same kind of thing. Another rare one...

Next, I was inside of a pool of sorts with some friends and my family, and we were having a some fun swimming around. We were not swimming long, however, when the pool suddenly emptied of water as a huge wave of energy or wind came by and dragged it along, leaving everything clean and barren as it cleared its pathway out around through the wilderness outside of the area. After it passed and I could see again, I came to realize immediately that my family was gone with the wind, and that nearly everyone else had gone with them. Where there had been towels and lawn chairs with umbrellas before, there were now just one or two lawn chairs, and no on there to sit on them. There were only two people other than me still left standing in the dry pool bed. There was one male and one female, both in their earlier to late thirties and otherwise nondescript. We were all wearing normal clothes at this point, which would have been a strange thing to wear in a pool. This must have happened with the wind, as well, then. We all climbed out at once and looked around at the barren landscape; the pool had apparently been open to the air, where I had not felt that before. There was one very large concrete wall on the back side of it, though, and the wall wrapped around for some ways to the left until it was almost out of sight in a downhill direction. See below.

P = Pool

What few trees there were had been stripped down to the trunk and a few branches, and there was no grass in sight. There were puddles of water here and there, though, and to the top right of the pool, if the back was the side facing the wall, was a lake or river of some kind in a dense, though less so, now, piece of wooded area. There were a few other people walking around out there far to the left of the pool, and we went out to meet with them. Among them was a ragged looking male, who appeared to be the leader of the group, as well as two females wearing soaking wet clothes that were worse for wear already, and one other, though he or she could not be readily identified as either, and seemed to escape notice simply by nature of the thing. We seemed to reach an agreement without saying anything that we should stick together and look around for whatever we could find and work out a solution to the problem and what had caused it. I got to thinking, and came to the conclusion that someone or something was behind it as a plot of some sort, and got the impression that the wave had gone around the wall and back around behind it where we could not see, and that there we could find my parents and brothers, as well as all of the other things that had been taken up by the wave. To be honest, I was not all that concerned with the plot itself, but got the impression that it was not done my human hands, as well as that what was taken up by the wave was not of consequence to them, so my family would be safe if they were still alive at this point. This all went through my head as we were sitting down around a fire, as we had somehow come to be sitting around one, and did not voice this opinion, but instead got up and walked off in a direction parallel to the wall, on my way to the back of it where it looped around out of sight. Several, if not all, of the others followed me, and we walked for quite a ways, though the actual actual distance must not have been that much, according to my mental map. It seemed like every step was worth far more than ten otherwise.

We eventually came to a particularly moist spot where there was nothing but dirt around and found a fridge in the center of our path, still on. It was not plugged into anything, but I opened it, and it was keeping the nothing cold that was inside of it. Oh, but there was a plastic food container in the back there, and it had some tuna fish in it. Hungry as I was, I grabbed it and ran off a little ways on my own to eat it. Having no silverware, I used my fingers. While doing so, I noticed that I had acquired fingerless gloves, and with them a whole set of durable outdoor wear, though none of it new. I had an old denim jacket and jeans, as well as some kind of vest and another kind of cloth wrapped around me.

I scraped out the last of my tuna and went to meet back up with the rest of the guys, but they appeared to be at a crossroads. The female from my group as well as one of the females from theirs and the fourth, unidentifiable character were all going to leave in the direction of the lake mentioned earlier. I perceived the unidentified one as being male now, simply because of the dominate kind of feel that he had over the two females who were following him. One of the females said something like, "I am going off on my own for now; I have had enough of this. See you guys later." She waved once and walked away, and as she did, her arm turned into a branch in the shape of the trail that her hand left, eventually breaking off and falling when she got far enough away from her starting point, which was about ten to fifteen feet of branch. It was as if the branch had come out of her arm, rather. I began to perceive her and the other two as tree people now, and they had a kind of strange and long wooded gait to their step, if that makes any sense. When she passed them, the other two joined her, and they all walked out into a marshy part of the lake, growing taller and more like one of the white and dead looking trees as they did so. They continued to walk off into the distance, and the rest of us turned away without paying much notice to them. We made for the bend in the wall again, though we did not get far before the dream faded out and/or I woke up. That is all.
