Winry had been watching the sky ever since ending her conversation with the dragon. Iskierka, she reminded herself. Didn't want to call her "the dragon" to her face. Despite the fact that Iskierka had said it might take a while, there really wasn't much around the house that could hold her attention with thoughts of riding on a dragon floating through her head.

This was going to be so cool.

She had wondered if she would be able to see the dragon from outside the housing complex; it was hard to gauge just how big she was in the video. But then the unmistakable form of something big with wings and a tail could be seen sailing through the sky, and Winry had to pause to wonder at it. She was seriously going to ride a dragon. That was... beyond the realm of comprehension, yet there it was ( ... )

The size difference between Iskierka and Winry became even more apparent as Iskierka leaned in to talk to the girl. Her clawed front hand was large enough to carry three full-grown adults, though it might be a tad uncomfortable with more than one. A better judge of size was her teeth, actually: a single sharp tooth in her mouth was roughly half the length of Winry's forearm.

Fortunately, Iskierka had no intention of using those teeth on Winry. She was quite violent in battle, but while she might speak roughly she was relatively gentle to non-combatants. It did her no good to harm people who weren't trying to harm her, so she usually just let them be. Usually.

"There you are," Iskierka said, sounding a touch impatient, "I was beginning to wonder if you would remember to come. It was very difficult to land in this courtyard, this city is not built for dragons at all ( ... )

"Sorry," Winry apologized, a tad breathless. “It was a bit of a walk.”

Straightening up, she had to simply grin at the creature before her. A real dragon was in front of her. A huge real dragon. And she was going to fly with it. No words for that. Just joyful squeeing she attempted to keep to herself. Who knew how sensitive dragon ears were?

“So… where are we going? Was there any place in particular you wanted to look first?”

"Oh, not too far, I suspect," Iskierka said, "A dragon may fly some fifty miles in the course of a day in good winds. I should very much like to inspect much of this strange land, but if I go too far it would be difficult to return to this place without rest. No, a circular path of a handful at most would be best ( ... )

Winry's eyes fell on the large, sharp looking talons before her. That... did not seem like a good idea at all, if she wanted to make it through this flight without puncture wounds littering her body. And she did.

"Have you done that with anyone before?" she asked hesitantly. Clinging to Iskierka's back seemed like a better idea; at least then she would be in control of whether or not she was dropped. Not that Winry was particularly afraid of heights, but she couldn't argue the point that it seemed like a painful way to die. She preferred to hold her life in her own, non-lethal hands.
