Yoite had finally managed to get a steady gait with his bandaged side when he realized he had lost the main road and had ended up on a little dirt path that was winding through trees and thickets. After hours of stumbling rather pathetically yet determinedly through the wood he stopped beneath the heavy boughs of blossoming tree to try and fiddle with the Hitomi. He stared at it, rolled it in his palm, flipped it over, then poked it. He repeated this process several times until he finally heard a beep. The sound made him jump slightly and he cast a quick glance to the side to be certain no one saw him do it. Yoite then returned his attention to the device. To be honest he was utterly bewildered by it. No one had ever taught him anything about electronics, which in retrospect he now realized was a flaw in his training. Or perhaps it had been intended to keep him in place in whatever way Hattori could. It was true that Yoite already had kira.. so to have given him electronic freedom might have doubled Yoite's staunch sense of independence.
Either way Yoite decided that he had to learn and he had to learn now. It was possible that this device.. this thing... might have a map or a way to communicate Miharu or Yukimi. When the screen flashes on his eyes widen in an almost childish hope. He pressed this button. Then he pressed that button. Then he pressed ALL the buttons simply because he hadn't tried it yet.
When it doesn't seem to work he glares. He is staring so hard that his brows furrow and his dun newspaper boy hat slips further down his face. The brim hid his eyes from the world.
He was lost.
