Beautiful Illusion?

Who: Umino Iruka (and anyone who joins in - to be added)
Status: Open (noob post!)
Style: Anything you want - I started out in third person.
Where/When: Konohagakure, his arrival, a street ... somewhere?

It was a soft melody that permeated through the sleepy haze, making expressive brown eyes peer up between lowered lashes. He was leaning against a large tree bark, smooth and a dusty white color, the setting sun permeating through the canopy of leaves.

"Strange." He muttered, blinking and finally sitting up and rolling back up to his feet, his gaze fixing on a colorful bird on the branch, long tailed, rare looking - he couldn't quite remember where he saw such a thing before. He wondered why he had fallen asleep and so late in to the afternoon if the setting sun was any indication. He was training, he remembered training and stopping for a short break.

Sighing and shaking his head, he took a look around him and blinked very slowly, rubbing the back of his slightly ruffled ponytail, confused. The terrain wasn't very familiar to him, not so much so at least - sandaled feet moved though, picking his proper direction with the help of the sun. This isn't where I last was - hmm, maybe I went too far?

He took the trees, gaining higher ground - and further surprised by the amount of colored birds he saw, much like the one earlier, singing their peaceful song - in hopes to see where he was exactly. He didn't feel too tired, he felt relaxed, calm, the type of feeling he remembered having after a decent meal and a comfortable nap against a hammock with a cool breeze. It made him wonder if he was really that stressed with work that a simple nap left him feeling so refreshed. New.

Not really focusing much on the surrounding greenery, Iruka found himself, sometime later, emerging in to a clearing. And stopped dead in his tracks.

"What ..."

It took a while to recover, perhaps too long because he remained rooted there, staring at the the completely different - city? village? Palace district? It was so wrong - the waterfalls, the mountains, the trees - but it didn't really feel ... so wrong.

Scrubbing his eyes a bit and pressing the heels of his palms against his brow bone, Iruka counted one to ten and looked again. Nope, still there. And not going away either.

It was also starting to get dark.

"Where the hell - I wasn't on a mission!" He checked his pockets, for scrolls, for a note, a memo - anything that'd explain the nonsense (beautiful nonsense though - too beautiful. Did a place like this even exist anywhere?). Iruka found nothing in his pockets, nothing that'd make him understand why he was in a place that felt like home but ... wasn't.

He could only think one thing.

"If someone is messing with Genjutsu as revenge - and it is not funny! - I am going to rip their freaking neck off! Though I have to give them something for the imagery - augh! That's not the point!" Muttering to himself and moving in to one of the streets, Iruka helplessly started walking, lost.
