Who: Kisame Hoshigaki, Uchiha Itachi
Status: Closed
Style: Past tense, third person
Where/When: Wave Country, about a half hour after Itachi's first dream in Kannagara.
Warnings: Confusion and leaping to conclusions? I don't know.

Kisame had taken a boat.

It seemed like the most prudent thing to do, at the moment; they were still just settling into this strange place, and this was their first time establishing a more private rendezvous point. If they needed to get in or out without burning through their energy too far, or to avoid leaving lingering chakra trails.... well, they'd need something instead of water walking, so it only made sense to have the little craft tied up and left here. And if it turned out they didn't need it after all, then it was just as easy to take back with them. Kisame didn't mind a good row, either--he'd grown up with this stuff. It was kind of nice--actually a little nostalgic, feeling the sun on his back and the sea breeze against his face, the pull of his shoulders with each sweep of the oars, the old sea chanty he rumble-hummed in the back of his throat to keep the time.... It felt a little like coming home.

Kisame let the nose of the small boat bump into the rocks before he pulled the oars back in, stepping easily out onto the water so he could tie it fast to the sturdiest outcropping in reach. He padded across the shore for a moment, kicking back as he walked to distort and cover his tracks--living on an island as he did, it was only habit to do so in the sand--as he headed for a slightly more protected area, a bit further off the coast and with flatter, more comfortable rocks. He hadn't seen Itachi yet, either on the way here or on the island itself, so he supposed he was early; he wouldn't mind waiting for a bit. Kisame settled back and got comfortable, loosening the tight self-restraint he usually kept over his chakra just a bit--if he let it flow naturally, his presence would likely be overwhelming to anyone with a sixth sense for the stuff, so it had long ago become habit to mask it.

As it was now, though, he was fine with being found, so the subtle flow would probably easily flag Itachi over.
