Summary: Yuui wants to take care of Fai and Fai wants his brother not a wanna-be father. Arguments ensue, leaving Vincent and Kurogane to play adults.
[All morning, as Yuui watches Fai write his spell lessons out in neat, even script, all he can think is that his brother is still too skinny. Never mind that he himself is much like a tall, thin reed - he wants Fai to grow healthy and strong.
But he's doing it so slowly, even compared to Yuui's own recovery in Celes.
Then again, he'd had the benefit of having the best of everything Ashura's court could offer - from magical treatments to the finest meals to help speed his own recovery along.
But here, all Fai has is him. Yuui. And all Yuui can remember is a few spells that he'd already taught to Fai, and that Fai had, in turn, tried to use on himself along with a few recipes. He is pretty sure they're the ones that he either really liked or absolutely hated, but it's been so long it's hard for him to remember exactly. Back then, he hadn't really paid attention to the living world around him, after all.
So while he can't exactly remember the finer details, he does remember that he'd been so thankful for Ashura's kindness that he hadn't thought to protest. And it happens to be one of those recipes that he recalls now. A cabbage and potato porridge, with just a touch of turnips for flavor. That has to be the perfect recipe for his twin, to bolster his strength during his lessons.
And that's exactly what he sets before his beloved brother two hours later as they sat down to eat their lunch, a bright smile on his face.]
There you go, Fai! It's the perfect porridge for a chilly day~ Now! Let's eat before Vincent and Kurogane get back~
