[ There's something wrong about this image, when it turns on -- or rather, is knocked on, knocked over to be a little more specific. Peter's eyes, which are usually brown, have turned a milky white, and his attention is directed at a painting -- it appears he seems to have knocked on his Hitomi while he was reaching for more paint. His arm moves

Isaac recognizes her too, almost instantaneously. When most of your archives are given over to paintings of the same cheerleader, you get a lot of questions, but familiar faces are easy to pick out in other peoples' artwork. He stares at the painting until the feed ends, then hesitantly switches to the audio option, voice urgent. ]
Peter. Where are you? We need to talk about this.

Hey. I'm home, in Yomisato. I was thinking of getting in touch with you.
[ For obvious reasons. ]

Alright--look. [ An awkward pause follows as Isaac struggles with a decision. ] We--we need to talk. In person. I need to see the painting.

[ Does just that. ]

It has to be someone else right? He's never even met this guy so there's no way he would be in his painting.
So it has to be...you know...some other kid with cornrows and a white kung fu shirt. Because there are just so many of those running around in Kannagara. Or not.
Okay. But seriously there is just NO WAY he could be in that painting right? So it just has to be some weird scary coincidence but a COINCIDENCE. He is pretty sure he hasn't pissed anyone off enough to paint pictures of him dead. He's just a kid, right?
Nervously he sends a video]
Um, have we met?
[Please tell me you know someone who looks like me back where you came from]

You're--
[ A breath. ]
You're the kid in my painting.
[ Which means, no, we haven't met. Peter's features are awash with conflict and worry. ]

It's a confusing rush and Allen just looking tense, jaw set firmly, and cleanly jumps in the middle to stop this or bothering the child with images of him like that.
But something is wrong. Something is obviously wrong.]
What do you think you're doing? Why-
[A gritting of teeth, obviously emotional and upset but wanting to understand.]
Why did you paint Dre like that?
Reply
[ This is true, Peter didn't ask to paint Dre (was that the kid's name), or Claire being accosted by strange cloaked men and covered in blood. He had only just picked up a paintbrush to make a few sketches (painting really) of ideas he had for their cafe and the next thing he knew he was looking at that. ]
The last time I painted something like this, it... it actually happened. But this can't happen -- I mean, I think I stopped it. I found Claire!

But the reaction to the painting? Pretty strange. She thinks it's a perfectly good painting, even though the dead kid is kinda creepy and she doesn't peg Peter as someone who is that morbid enough to go into that kind of . . . theme? Subject matter? Aw, hell, she doesn't know, she's a vampire, not a fucking artist.
But even that aside, the fact that he looks at the painting like he's actually witnessing as a broadcast? Pretty damn strange.]
Are you okay?
Reply
[ Knowing Claire is okay for the moment makes that true, but Peter is still worried about that other kid in the painting, still worried that somehow even though he knows Claire is safe in the bedroom next door, this painting is still going to somehow happen. ]

Well, I didn't know you could paint. Maybe you should do commissions?
[She's trying a good stab at conversation here, have at it.]

On the assumption this guy might be as close-mouthed about it all as the other was, Matt starts out with the message set to private.]
Did you find her?
Reply
Yeah.
[ Peter says, nodding a bit. ]
Thanks.
[ For caring enough to ask. ]

[He hesitates, because he doesn't want to blab about the other guy's powers, when it was obviously something he didn't want people knowing. Then he decides it was deduce-able from this guy's reaction that the painting hadn't happened yet.]
Did you know in time to stop it?
Reply
[ Claire is safe next door, for the time being. Peter intends on keeping it that way. ]

Doubting that he's the only one to think that, Doug checks the other responses. But when there doesn't seem to be much yet, as far as he can see, he sends Peter his own. ]
Why did you paint this...?
Reply
[ Peter doesn't really have a good explanation for this. ]
Reply
[ It doesn't seem like something that could have happened for no reason, and Doug is sure that the shouted name and Peter's alarm confirm that. ]
