[ There's something wrong about this image, when it turns on -- or rather, is knocked on, knocked over to be a little more specific. Peter's eyes, which are usually brown, have turned a milky white, and his attention is directed at a painting -- it appears he seems to have knocked on his Hitomi while he was reaching for more paint. His arm moves

It has to be someone else right? He's never even met this guy so there's no way he would be in his painting.
So it has to be...you know...some other kid with cornrows and a white kung fu shirt. Because there are just so many of those running around in Kannagara. Or not.
Okay. But seriously there is just NO WAY he could be in that painting right? So it just has to be some weird scary coincidence but a COINCIDENCE. He is pretty sure he hasn't pissed anyone off enough to paint pictures of him dead. He's just a kid, right?
Nervously he sends a video]
Um, have we met?
[Please tell me you know someone who looks like me back where you came from]

You're--
[ A breath. ]
You're the kid in my painting.
[ Which means, no, we haven't met. Peter's features are awash with conflict and worry. ]

It's a confusing rush and Allen just looking tense, jaw set firmly, and cleanly jumps in the middle to stop this or bothering the child with images of him like that.
But something is wrong. Something is obviously wrong.]
What do you think you're doing? Why-
[A gritting of teeth, obviously emotional and upset but wanting to understand.]
Why did you paint Dre like that?
Reply
[ This is true, Peter didn't ask to paint Dre (was that the kid's name), or Claire being accosted by strange cloaked men and covered in blood. He had only just picked up a paintbrush to make a few sketches (painting really) of ideas he had for their cafe and the next thing he knew he was looking at that. ]
The last time I painted something like this, it... it actually happened. But this can't happen -- I mean, I think I stopped it. I found Claire!

[He pauses, a little worried still, but calmer.]
Then.. you can paint possible futures, too?
Reply
And yeah, Claire's the girl from the painting. We knew each other from before she came here... She's practically like family to me.
Reply
Dre is like family to me as well, although we didn't know each other before here.
[A pause, and someone who knows what it's like to be guilted and gnawed at by responsibility would probably recognize his tone.]
You don't... these things don't always come true though, do they?
Reply
[ See that's the thing, there is just too much that Peter doesn't know. ]
This guy I know from my world, Isaac -- he has the same power as me. Apparently he's been doing this a lot longer than me. Painting the future, I mean. He's coming over, so I'll ask him when he gets here.
Reply
Alright. I'd...
[He generally tries not to let his worries show, but it's pretty clear anyway.]
Would you let me know?
[And in the meantime he'll try to keep Dre safe and away from anything like that as well.]
Reply
Hey, Allen... Listen, I've stopped the future before. I think I can do it again.

So, I take it we really haven't met...and that painting is just sorta freaky? Okay...really freaky?
Reply
Really freaky's a good way of putting it. I'm sorry you had to see that. It must just be a weird coincidence.
[ Yeah, Peter doesn't like lying to kids, but... ]
Reply
[He's smiling, but it's a little strained.]
It's just a painting and one of his skills. Don't worry about it. He didn't mean anything bad by it, and...
[The corners of his lips twitch for a moment, but the smile stays. Stubbornly.]
... It's nothing to worry about, but why don't you stay in the compound for a few days?
Just in case.
Reply
Uh sure...okay...I guess I can do that.
[Okay...maybe he can't resist] Is it something bad, Mr. Allen?
Reply
Allen really doesn't see the point on dwelling on something that'll just scare them both.
But he does pause for a second, expression falling sober before a smile pops back on. He won't lie, but he does always believe in trying to cling to what faith he can.]
It isn't if we don't let it.
Reply
[He, similar to Allen, forces a smile] Alright Mr. Allen, I trust you.
