[Miharu has placed the Hitomi right in front of his feet, and as the screen flares to life, on its own, all you can see is his black hair. Unsurprisingly, seeing as his arms are wrapped around his knees and his face is buried in his sleeves

And he knows what it's like when Kannagara robs you of someone important to you; that's why he has to say something.]
Not always for good, though.
I know that doesn't really help.

That got recorded? Okay... That's not really something he wanted to show everyone but... okay.
Fine. Stupid thing, this is why he doesn't use phones. Technology just can't be trusted.]
Un... I know.
[But, indeed, it doesn't help.]

[Maybe not with his memories, but still. Better than not knowing.]
I've kind of, um. [Matt blushes, predictably.] Been meaning to see if there's anything we can do about that. People getting taken away, I mean.

Normally, he would probably latch onto the blush and resort to teasing, but he's not really feeling up for it. Not even to force himself enough to act.
Had he had a choice, he would have stayed away from the network for a while. But apparently there is no such luck.]
That would be good.

No shit, genius. Not that hard to figure that out.
[Still, it's a brat and he seems upset, so Kanda actually considers being somewhat nice for a moment.]
Shit happens. This place isn't exactly real.

The wording is weird, though.]
How is it "not exactly real"?

Think about it. People come and go. Nobody dies here. More like a long dream than reality, no?

Kid. Hey, kid. What happened?

[Blink, blink. Oh.
...]
Yoite disappeared. They took him away, the gods.

I'm sorry about that, kid. Does stuff like that happen a lot?

[He hasn't exactly kept an eye on that. This is the first one he knows well enough who got taken away...
It hurts.]

[He's not going to ask if you're alright - none of them are. And if it hurts like a dull ache deep in his very bones, he can't imagine how painful it is for Miharu to get here just in time to have Yoite disappear.
So he's not going to offer useless patitudes or hollow words of condolance. All he can do is what he can for Yoite - he can silently reverse that promise.
Because while Yoite may be out of his protective reach, Miharu is not.
So the best thing he can do in memory of the love he holds in his heart for his friend and brother, is to protect that which Yoite held most dear. He can protect Miharu... and hopefully, he can do it better than he'd failed Yoite.
So he smiles a small muted shadow of a smile.]
Where are you at? I'd like to come get you, bring you back to our home. None of us should have to be alone right now.

He never wanted anyone to see him like this. He doesn't want people to be worried and concerned over something that he needs to deal with on his own. Wants to deal with on his own.
It's bad enough as it is for him to have to think about how much he shows and how much the others can see. He just wants to be alone with this grief so he can gather himself together and bottle it all up to face the world. Because it's not going away any time soon and he'll have to face the world, face people, face others he cares about.
Right now, he can't.
But his pain has already been shown to the world, stripped bare, and it's no use to hide it any longer. Except he can't not, it's habit.
But it is no use, even if he tries.]
Where Yoite used to be.

[Raikou nods then and flicks off the Hitomi, takes off at a quick sprint. He's grateful for the way this place shifts the time, so that the distance between them fades far faster than even the bullet train could manage.
Because right now there is nothing more important than getting to Miharu, keeping his young cousin from being alone right now... especially now ( ... )

Perhaps he should ask about it... Because that confuses him; he knows of no such thing. But then, Raikou is on his way and, frankly, he doesn't quite feel like knowing right now. He has a feeling... that would be too much.
Thus he locks that away as he waits, thinking about maybe cleaning up a little since he'll be leaving this place, apparently. But then... he can't find the strength in him to move.
So he doesn't do so until he hears Raikou, only then forces himself onto his feet by locking away everything, putting on a blank expression, though he can't put away all of the tiredness. Maybe some of the throbbing in his chest shines through. Go away go away goaway.]
I'm here...
