New York Comic Con was pretty crazy! I was shocked at how busy it was this year, especially on Saturday. It was kind of overwhelming, to be honest.
I sold a handful of comics (seven isn't bad when I only sold one last year!) and only gave out another handful, but they were all to artists I really admire and struck up some really great conversations with each of them. I don't know if I'll hear back from anyone, but it's a start, right? I went to some great panels about comics as a medium-- NYCC always has some killer panels with creators talking about their processes.
I guess since it was so crowded though, this is the first time in a while that I caught the CON PLAGUE. I got sick Saturday night and spent Sunday furiously drowning my hands in purell for the sake of the people I wanted to talk to-- which is hard to do when your head is swimming.
Anyway, KATSUCON next weekend, which should be a totally different game! I ran into my teacher and mentioned to her that I'd be going this weekend, and since she used to go to anime cons she demanded I take some pictures for her, so I'll be on the lookout!
Anyway, now that NYCC is over and I have my first 14 pages done, it's time I start moving on and getting everything else with my dumb comic situated. I made a web page for it that's going to be updating twice a week as long as I can keep up with it! I feel a little silly advertising it when there's only two updates but I hope you guys keep an eye out :') Anyway it's HERE:
WINTERS IN LAVELLE MY GOOFY WEBCOMIC
The site's a little goofy right now because I'm really really not good with most things that aren't basic html, but if anyone can help me make improvements through wordpress and has some practical advice on how to do it I would appreciate it! Otherwise "fix this" won't get me too far because I probably don't know HOW, but I'd like the input anyway.
