Thoughts on watching Lady Vengeance

Dec 28, 2006 22:43

athena25 & I watched Lady Vengeance.

ten minutes in
Athena: This isn't in Chinese, is it?
Me: *squinting* No...
Athena: I can tell, 'cause of the lack of Chinese. It's not Japanese either, is it?
Me: *deep in thought* No. I think it's Korean.
Athena: *reads box* Yes.
Me: I'm not sure what's going on.
Athena: She's going to be seeking vengeance for something. I think.

Half an hour in
Me: Who's that guy? What's going on?
Athena: I don't know. Can't be that important.

An hour in
Me: is this significant?
Athena: I have no idea what's going on.

An hour and a half in
Me: It might be wrong that this makes me smile.
Athena: It's a matter of perspective. Nine pints, I say.

two hours in
Athena: OMG, how long is this movie??
Me: Why is the girl barefoot?
Athena: It's symbolic.
Me: What's she doing with that cake?
Athena: *squints* It's hard to say...

Post-movie
Athena: You know what our problem is? We think we're clever. Instead of watching ghostbusters, we said, "a ha! An Asian Extreme flick, let's curl up with that!" That's what our problem is.
Me: I liked the bit with the cake.
