Well, I didn't want to advertise this too much, at least not at first, but now that I feel more confident and all, Listen to my new radio show!!! Wednesday mornings from 7-9 on WUAG 103.1 the Music I will be rocking Greensboro and the world! If you're not local, check me out at www.wuag.net I have no theme to the show, just whatever I want to listen to mostly, so if you're an early bird and want to hear something, give me a call 334-5450. Also, if you have any ideas for a DJ name, let me know. So far I have had the suggestions DJ Star Trek Scotty and DJ Kill the Buddha. If you all don't have any ideas, I'm gonna be boring and go by Scott.
Last night played my first open mic night at the Flat Iron after work. I played Amy, Fall Asleep, So Willingly, and Paper Bag by Fiona Apple. Aside from forgetting the chords to one of my own songs, everything was pretty cool. Rae came along too and we had a drink and asked each other Trivial Pursuit questions. It's weird to think about people moving away so soon, and so far away too. I am envious and unsure how to feel about people going their own way. I don't feel I took the time to really get to know anyone like I should have. I realize I have a little longer to do this for some people due to my new circumstances, but I don't know that this revelation will carry through to the appropriate actions to remedy this.
Work is pretty good I guess. Ben made the point that he really hasn't eaten at home since he started since we get a meal with every shift. That's a nice perk as it saves money. I just hope that I don't allow myself to become jaded in any way. The scores of affluent men and women can make me feel uneasy at times for some reason. This is for no real reason I guess. Everyone has been really nice thus far. It's just a different world than the one I usually exist in I suppose.
Oh, and this weekend, Procomm Picnic, hangin' out with Jenn Meadows, and mixin' the GTT album...Shock-ya!
