Whoa... I never thought about it before, but it's true...
I just saw a comment on this Cracked.com article that I find to be quite a bit insightful:
I asked my 14 year old daughter, "Do you know who started the whole boy band thing?" She calmly replied "The Beatles". After thinking about it for a bit, I realized she's totally right! Mind blown. Before the butthurt Beatles fans start ranting, just compare "She loves you yeah yeah yeah" or "I wanna hold your haaaaaaaand" to anything The New Kids on the Block did. Creepy right? I'm not saying they stayed a 'boy band', but they sure as hell started out as one.
