AH so the Golden Globes were pretty amazing on sunday.
staying up all night, three live feeds running to catch ALL the action.
Alec wasn't there as we knew, and Meryl didn't red carpet coz she doesn't at the gg. but it was all amazing, i just love so many people so my heart was just jump jump jumping all over the place.
the first time lourdes and i saw tina, we just SCREAMED, coz woah pretty & amazing.
LOVED that Emily & Nicole both wore that pale pink, my girls.
HATE that Julianne didn't look great, it was just that fur top was insane.
I predicated pretty much all the awards coz i know their love for stars/deservingness mix, the only one i didn't get was Chloe Vs Jane Lynch, i wanted Chloe to win coz Big Love is one of my favourite favourite shows but i thought Jane would coz everyone seems to love her (probs get the sag)
SO happy for Micheal C Hall & John Lithgow.. SO deserving, this season of dexter was specacular. and he won on the performance and not coz they knew he had cancer.
Glee/Mad Men, whatever but i knew.
All the film ones went as expected apart from director, i knew avatar would win film coz its the star fucking globes but i thought they would give director to Kathyrn. Alas she WILL win that oscar.
Meryl's Speech was INCREDIBLE. i was very impressed. i hate that she has to try so hard for them to vote for her but she does have to keep hitting this poignent speeches in order to get the oscar votes. they need to know shes humble & wants it & is VERY appreciate too.
Onto Bafta noms...
Just unbelievable that Alec got a nomination, just SO happy for him (AND me coz HELLO ill be there)
Thought Emily & Julianne would get nominated being that they are in british films. so SADFACE there. i also REALLY want to meet them, top of my list. Emily could present i guess, will see.
Interesting to see if Carey will wint he lead coz shes also got the rising star nom last week, she could easily win both but maybe the voters will choose to give her just one. and apparently they love it's complicated and it just came out here so added votes to meryl. J&J did pretty well here but we brits don't KNOW julia child so its a very different voting thing.
So yes i will be there on the red carpet at the Baftas, many people to meet, love IT.
and very excited to meet my new obsession VERA FARMIGA. (currently watching her movie collection)
saw up in the air on tuesday (followed by another trip to see IC) and fell in LOVE with vera and the relationship between her & george. thought that was a GREAT hilarious film and even tho the ending was an anticlimax and too unsure, the rest of it made the film great. the screenplay & directing was amazing, well done Jason. and the 3 lead performances were pretty perfect, i can see why they are nominated.
Just waiting waiting for films to come out in cinemas here, wanna see most of the oscar films, just LOVE them. been cinema 8 times this month & will go a few more in the next week im sure.
Back at uni also.. not so fun but feel motivated to do wor now im back here which is fabulous as have a few assignments to do.. new timetable is AMAZING. get two days of lie in. :D
