The Boy and the Heron
My previous posts have been depressing, so its time to write down a little review instead. I have just watched The Boy and the Heron from the famous Studio Ghibli. It's a two hour film, with such beautiful art and graphics which is reminiscent of Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. However, I cannot seem to connect with the story. It's kinda like all over the place, or seemingly one would like to ask several questions, like what was the younger version of Mahito's mother doing in the other world? Why did she possess such power? Or why did Natsuko travel to the realm to give birth? So many plots go unanswered and characters that you wished had more to their story.
Like what I said, the story is visually stunning. Mahito's reunion with his mother was moving and in the same time sad especially when they parted. But I wished there was more to the story.
