June 3, 2009: Four (4!) years with the same occupation! June 3rd was my four year anniversary of being a truck driver. Four years with the same job is considered small potatoes to most, but not me! I've had damn year 15 jobs in one year before, so if I can go four years with the same occupation, with only two companies... well, that is a big deal for me. It feels pretty cool I must say, and oddly grown-up of me. Oy.
June 9, 2009: Six (6!) years with Ashley! We've been together six years now, and with each passing day, things only get better. Six years makes you realize that time goes by super quick... way too fast, and that whatever doubt or trouble there may have been, it doesn't matter... at this point it only gets better. I've been a real asswipe when it comes to complacency, and have at times taken things for granted... but there is no need for any of that. Looking back, these past six years have been amazing. Truly amazing... I'm happy. I can't wait to see what is next.
SCHOOL: i could not enroll in the Urban Planning program at DAAP due to conflicting work schedule/school required co-op... so after having discussed the issue with the director of the School of Planning, i switched to the Urban Studies program instead; which does not require a co-op. sweet. the cool thing with the Urban Studies program is that they make you minor/cert. in something, which in my case could either be GIS, Historical Preservation, or even Urban Planning... so it should all work out.
I'm still trying to find a second job though, and have had little luck. I still need about $2,500 to get the required lap-top and software... I'll think of something, somehow.
GUARD: i may not be able to join. will find out monday whether or not i have a disqualifying medical condition. i've been hacking up phlegm for about 6 months maybe? a few weeks ago, i hacked up blood along with the phlegm, for a good week straight. so yeah. if i sign up for the guard tomorrow, only to realize later i have asthma or chronic bronchitis, i can't get out of the guard without going to jail. i don't want to go to jail. i've known dudes who didn't tell the military about some ailment, then the military found out... and they actually sent the dudes to jail for a while until they were officially booted out.
if the doctor gives the green light, then away i go. if not, then screw it. i don't want to die, or go to jail, then die because of some pre-existing medical condition.
LIFE: I love it!
