Feel like this week damn near killed me. Aren't weekends supposed to be for rest?
Where to begin. I guess it started last Thursday, no, the Thursday before last Thursday when I worked a full day, then boarded a plane to Chicago immediately after. Meet up with old anime channel friend n3rv there and hit up Kumas corner; a heavy metal burger joint that does great burgers and even better Mac and cheese. The beer selection isn't bad either. Crashed and got up the next morning to work the convention. As much as I enjoy them conventions are still work; I do more heavy lifting and running around at them than I do at my normal job by far. I did get to eat a fair share of delicious Chicago food though!
Sunday night I grabbed dinner with friends instead of working con cleanup because of a time crunch with my ride home. I hopped on the train immediately after dinner and rode that near25 hours back to Boston. It was comfortable for the most part; though I did get antsy in the last few hours. Arrived home early, but had made arrangements to pick up a friend at the airport and his plane was late. Got home at near midnight.
Then began a normal day of work, finished with a pre-Thanksgiving party into the evening. The next morning involved real Thanksgiving; so we got up early and drove to Vermont, where I had to do my typical family things. Visit my mum and brother, then eat dinner with my dad and cousin. Stole around forty pounds of turnips and butternut squash from him and once more came home late.
Friday and Saturday were both uneventful but long. Worked two sixteen hope shifts and slept overnight in the back room at work in between. Sunday I slept in until almost 9:00! followed by a lot of organizing at the house, cleaning and errands. Which is pretty much what I did until last night when I helped a friend move a five hundred pound wood stove and then hit up the local microbrewery.
Please excuse any words, typos or grammatical errors in this post. Typing the whole thing up on the phone and still getting used to Swype (just installed yesterday).
