Hey gang,
Oh man, back on LiveJournal! Craziness.
I'm taking my friend Aimee's advice to heart and embarking on a project to start using LiveJournal again - every day for a month to start and then we'll see. Aimee's argument, for those who haven't heard, is that now that we are all moving apart and spreading across the world, it's getting harder and harder to keep up with all the crap that is going on in each others' lives. Twitter only gives a morsel, and if you were to e-mail everyone everything every day, it would take all day. Better to write a little something about what's going on in your life every day on LiveJournal. That way, if someone from faraway asks you what's up, you can direct them here! Seems pretty brilliant to me, especially since this year is going to involve a lot more travel and a lot less time in New Jersey for me, so no one will be nearby for actual conversations most of the time. Anyway, I'm giving it a shot and I encourage others to do the same.
My life has been ok, but busy, lately - I know, I know, big change. For those who don't already know, I was promoted at work in mid-2010 to be part of my company's national team, which means that I have to spend all my working time visiting and training new branches my company acquires. This position goes full-time starting the beginning of 2011 (that's now!) so weekdays will more-often-then-not find me in some strange city somewhere. I'm going back to Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday of this week, for instance. After Omaha, the tentative schedule is: Las Vegas, Houston, Orlando, and then who knows?
Other than work life has been good. It's really nice to have an apartment I can call my own in the long-term. Obviously I don't plan on spending the rest of my life here, but it's finally a nice enough place that I don't mind spending several years here. I still need a couch like woah, but saving for the couch has been superseded lately by saving for Disney World! Emma, me, my sister and her boyfriend are all going in two weeks and it's going to be great. I will do everything I can not to get an eye infection this time!
Social life is medium good. I have my gaming circle that meets every Sunday and we take turns cooking elaborate meals and playing whatever game seems fun (at the moment, Exalted). I go out to parties and stuff with the New Brunswick crew all the time (last night's New Year's Eve party is apparently still going on inside my aching head) and have a few laughs. I've been without a ladyfan for over a year now and I'm starting to really worry that I've fallen off the horse for good - I haven't even been interested in anyone in a long time, and (as per my usual life techniques) when I do show a glimmer of interest, it is always in the worst possible person who (more often than not) immediately bangs one of my douchebag friends. I'd like to be meeting more people in general, but I have no idea where adults go to meet each other in a non stalking/I wanna murder your face off kind of way. Ah well.
Ok, I have to grocery shop now or dinner is just never going to happen! I am going to try to stick to this goal for a whole month, but we'll see. In the meantime, why not tell me about your life?!? You won't.
