Last night I went to see Fiddler on the Roof at the Savoy Theatre. I kind of feel sorry for the cast because they put up a good show, but
the theatre wasn't even half full. And Savoy Theatre is one of the smallest ones that I've been to. I'm really happy I managed to watch it anyway because I used to play some of the songs when I was little and sing along. Even though I hadn't ever heard them before! I used to do that a lot as a kid, get a piano book for a couple of songs, play those couple of songs to death, then move on to the rest of the songs in the book. The Fiddler songs were part of "the rest of the songs" in a piano book I had which must have been some sort of "scores from famous musicals" type thing. I particularly enjoyed "Sunrise Sunset" yesterday, it was very poignant and emotional. I would have enjoyed the other songs more if there weren't a few stinking bastards sitting behind me chatting. I was pretty naffed off! Plus I mean it when I say "stinking" cos they stank. People who smell bad shouldn't be allowed out of their houses!
But all in all, I'm glad I had the opportunity to see the songs I sang to myself in childhood performed on the stage.
Unfortunately, as the performance ended, so did the good part of my evening. It's a mystery to me how it happened, and why, but I took ill on the way home. The last leg of my journey, a quarter of an hour train ride, was the longest ride of my life. All I can recall is sitting on that damned train, probably looking quite green around the gills, clutching my bag trying not to think of the sick making its way up my throat :'( The distance between stations had NEVER felt so long and I nearly cried because I was in pain but really didn't want to suffer the indignity of throwing up all over my fellow passengers in the train carriage :'( How traumatic!!!
And all I could think of as a distraction from sick thoughts was Kasi's cornbread!!! NOT A GOOD TIME......... @.@
Anyways I made it home before I embarrassed myself, after which I collapsed into bed and portrayed a perfect picture of a corpse till morning.
So I am home sick today :( Cos I still feel slightly out of sorts and infinitely under the weather.
I should rest I suppose, but I'm so rarely at home for long periods of time that I feel now that I have this window of spare time, I should be doing some housework! :( So the laundry is going. I'm eyeing the vacuum too. I don't actually feel up to any of it but I feel extremely guilty if I don't do something!!! 。・゚゚・(>д<;)・゚゚・。
Feel my pain please.
On a happier note, whilst emailing work at the crack of dawn this morning to let them know I wasn't coming in, I was surfing for Plastic Tree in London tickets as per usual. They're not out yet, but I search for them everyday, I'm conscientious like that hurhur XD So anyways, whilst doing that I found some information about Dir En Grey's little trip back here in November! I knew they were coming back but I'd already decided I wouldn't go cos I'd only just seen them in August, and I've got other events to attend in November................. but I couldn't resist. So I bought tickets! So now I'm going to see them right after arriving home from my trip :O I hope I don't pass out on the floor in my jetlagged state. Hopefully I should just about keep awake seeing as 1) it's ONLY Dir En Grey!!!, 2) it's a "hardcore" gaming convention and rock music event all rolled into one (the "hardcore" description is the organisers', not mine) so in addition to Deg, there'll be a battle of the bands competition as well as a battle of the clans for the gamers. Cool. I can't wait.
Apparently a screamo band are performing here in Nov as well. As you know, I like screamo. But I've never heard of this band (I've never heard of anything hardly, I'm crap (-.-)), they're called "envy". Does anyone know them? I heard some of their stuff on their myspace. It's alright. I will have to run it by my mates.
Okay now, completely unrelated to any of the above, and for The Scampi - hardest fried seafood in the (West, East, whichever - insert your neck of London here X] ), the file I promised I'd upload. How handy that I've got all this time today! :3
The Shaun for The Scamp Note to Grace - I can't watch ep 10 yet cos I have to wait for my mate. I think tonight 8D I'll keep you updated!
Love to you all x x x
