Shrinking vehicles

Over the last three years, but especially over the last year, I have noticed a dramatic reduction in the number of SUVs and minivans on the road in our area. I think this is a very good thing. I wonder if it is the same in other counties? Counties around here have distinct personalities and people here tend to be more working class. I wish now I had collected data :-).

Also, although cars are still older here than in other areas, I am noticing fewer with significant body damage. The accident rate here used to be on average one accident every two years (as opposed to one in every five for other large cities). I am curious to find out if that has changed as well. It would be funny if people were driving more mindfully now that fewer are driving tanks.
