Uh. Holy crap. The Orioles are in the playoffs. May not know for a few days if it's as a wild-card team (and thus certain values of "in the playoffs") or winning the division, but whoa. Last time this happened, I was a junior in college. I have memories of doing homework in the dorm lobby while watching the games. My grades may have suffered a tiny bit, but it was worth it. ;)
I was at the game today, and there was more excitement in the first inning than there is in the ninth inning of most games. They played Boston, and the stands were full of orange, not red. As it should be, really, but it's been a while.
It's so odd to be following late-season baseball the way I normally follow late-season hockey, but man, is it nice. (And hockey, or the lack thereof, is probably a entry for another time. Today, it is about good sports news.)
