Dogpile on the pseudo-protagonist!
Vaan is going to be in the second Dissidia game. The upside is that I can now beat the stuffing out of him as much as I want. ;p Basch is also being added; I guess that's so he can have epic confrontations with Gabranth, but really I was hoping for pretty much any of the other PCs if they were going to be adding more FF12 characters. Then again, I'd lose every fight against Balthier.
I wonder if that means they'll be adding more FF11 characters. Likely Cosmos candidates would be Aldo, Zeid, Lion, and Prishe (in fact, Prishe was supposed to be in the first one, but they decided Shantotto would be better instead) with Lilisette as possible but less likely. Chaos would be harder since so few of the major bosses have humanoid forms; in fact, I think this might limit us to the Zilart. A better move might be to swap Shantotto over to Chaos (really, she's her own side) and pick two of the more heroic candidates.
Edit: Apparently, that isn't Basch; that's Gabranth pretending to be Basch. So that means they're probably only adding one more FF11 character. As kagami points out in the comments, the Shadow Lord would be the most logical villain choice, but there are issues with the fact that he's friggin' huge. On the other hand, the Cloud of Darkness is much smaller in Dissidia than she is in her FF3 final boss form, so it's entirely possible. Also, they did name the FF14 alpha servers after previous FF villains, and the only one who wasn't in Dissidia was the Shadow Lord.
