Hellooooooooo from China....

Yes, I'm still alive, and couldn't be better. First and foremost, before I begin speaking about the trip so far, I have to say that if you ever wanted to go to a country, fucking go. This trip has been a series of experiences that I could have never gotten while in America.

First, yes I've officially seen the Great Wall as well as the Terrecotta (sp?) Warriors, and they are both rather breath-taking. Overall, they were both exactly what I expected and yet very different at the same time. The Great wall looked cool, but I think that all the pictures of the great wall that I've seen over time have taken away the shock value of actually seeing it for the first time. However, the fact that we had lunch in one of the lookout towers in the great wall was something that I'll never forget. The Great wall was one thing, but the Terracotta warriors were even more exceptional. I knew that there were thousands, but I couldn't imagine their number until I saw them all at once for the first time. Each one had a different face, a different suit of armor, and each were an exact replica of a soldier. It was surreal.

That was all in the first 6 days or so of the trip. For the past couple of days, we've basically set camp at Kunming, a southern city (Capital of Yunnan) with spring like weather. I'm actually getting tan here. There's nothing really to do here in particular, so we're just sitting back and relaxing for a week or so. It's quite nice. Tomorrow I'm going to leave for Dali for a day or two to see a couple of Pagoda's and then I'll be back in Paradise.

Speaking of paradise, there are alot of muslims in China, at least, more than I expected. Their food, however, is some of the best I've eating. Lesson learned: If the cook is wearing a muslim cap, eat!

I've got so much to say about China, and I've put most of that in my real journal. Just wanted to say hi to everyone!
