Another mostly illustrated weekend report. I was in Ely briefly yesterday, and passed through a belt of Morris People on my way to the station, part of
Ely Folk Festival. I was particularly taken with this group, who are apparently
Hemlock Morris from Bedfordshire.
Today I was at home, and
stevie_carroll came over for the Didsbury Car Festival. (Technically it's the Didsbury Car Show but, seeing as it follows the Didsbury Festival and the Didsbury Arts Festival, it seems a shame to abandon a winning formula.) I am not especially interested in cars, but there were some that appealed even to me.
I particularly liked this Morris post van (with added bike prop, and last posting dates for Christmas on the side).
I'm not sure I liked this Cadillac, but it does manage to be rather frighteningly iconic. It's as if its teeth are about to part and then snap shut around you.
I was more taken with the Rolls Royce and the Buick...
Particularly when I went round the back and found the trunk.
I wouldn't mind owning a car if it came with luggage like this.
This I have no desire to own, but I wouldn't mind being given a lift in it.
The seats are very pretty.
And finally there was this one. Back to... some time or other?
And by the way, for anyone who hasn't seen it,
the new Doctor Who trailer. Contains spoilers, of course, but if the BBC keeps broadcasting them they may become difficult to avoid.
