A happy birthday to
mraltariel! And a happy Valentine's Day to those of you who celebrate that sort of thing!
I usually post a song for Valentine's Day, and today I thought I'd pick one specially for Rosie, to celebrate the fact that she's still here! As you may remember, I didn't think she would make it to Christmas - even the vet, who was doing his best to reassure me at the time, now admits that he thought things looked very bleak. But thanks to my heroic neighbour, who comes round to administer an appetite stimulant every two or three days - it's a two-woman job, as I have to hold Rosie while M opens her mouth and shoots the pill down her throat - she has not only survived, but regained a lot of weight. The vet is so pleased that he's cut back her check-ups from every fortnight to once a month.
Here she is to show you herself:
She likes to come upstairs for a good cuddle several times a day, but most of the rest of the time she is nesting in a warm dark hiding place in some boxes under a table. You can't see this very well, but it gives you a better impression of what it's like than the version taken with flash!
She's also been enjoying the sunny weather - she doesn't go out very often now, but every few days she suggests I open the catflap for her.
Anyway, the music. Because she's sweet and lovely and likes to be with me in the morning, I thought a bit of George Harrison would suit her well:
Rosie's a tortoiseshell -
White/Ginger/Black -
George's For You Blue's
Her Valentine track.
