Mummy, and my little girl

Mummy on the Orient Express is another episode I don't seem to have much to say about.

It looked nice - the train running through space didn't look as silly as I expected, and Clara's dress was obviously gorgeous (not being a fashion expert, I wasn't quite sure whether the plunging neckline was in period?)

What I really liked was the idea of trying to get each victim to cough up enough evidence in the 66 seconds available for the Doctor to solve the killings - eventually. And of course the way that he is so pragmatic about it, and that his pragmatism finally leads him to snatch the designated victim's place, so that he can work it out himself without being so distracted by impending death...

This pragmatism is something I've been enjoying as far back as Deep Breath - it seems selfish when he tells the tramp "There's no point in us both being cold" and Clara "There's no point in catching us both", but the tramp ends up with a watch worth far more than the coat he gives in exchange, and the Doctor's escape enables him to rescue Clara. He's deliciously utilitarian.

And "Are you my mummy?" was one of the best quotes ever.

I'm assuming Gus, like Seb, had something to do with Missy? I've tried to think of an acronym, but have failed. At any rate, she must have picked up quite a few people from the train.

Tabitha is still alive, but I don't think this can go on much longer; though she's still surprisingly lively, she's barely eaten for several days, and eventually this is going to take effect. We have booked an appointment with the vet for Monday.
