The latest weirdness on LJ is that for the past few days they have reassigned new colours to all the journals I read, so I can no longer quickly see who's posted recently just from glancing at the colours... particularly since the combinations of text and background colours they have hit upon frequently make the names illegible.
I've no idea why this is happening; I've been to check the LJ Manage Friends page, and the colours shown there remain the ones I chose for each person or group. LJ's colour choices are not entirely random; different entries from the same journal get one consistent colour combination on any particular day, but not necessarily the same as the previous day (I know one person has gone through at least three new colours).
Anyway, this reminds me that I have still not posted a few photos from a trip to London two weeks ago (never mind a whole lot from my German trip four weeks ago). So, may I present
Primary Colours on the South Bank.
A view from the bridge: St Paul's and the South Bank.
The same evening: Ginspirations cocktail (crushed fresh celery and pineapple with fennel infused gin, agave syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice, served with cheddar cheese) at
Gillray's Bar in the former County Hall.
This wasn't anywhere near the South Bank, and isn't a primary colour, but I've put it in because it was so pretty: a barn owl at the Ely Apple Fair. The handler apologised because the owl wouldn't show its face to the camera, but I said that was fine, it was the beautiful pattern on the feathers that I was trying to capture. This would make a gorgeous fabric.
And, belatedly for her, but it's still today here: a very happy birthday to
gerald!
