I started watching Bones about a month ago, believe it or not - and I gotta say, there's an advantage to picking up something fun, this far along in its life span. I found Seasons 1-3 really cheap on DVD and am starting in at the beginning, although I've seen various episodes on Fox this season, and reruns on TNT. LOTS of fun. Hodgins and the nunchucks was awesome!
And I totally *heart* Fringe. That one I've been watching from the beginning. Walter and Astrid are an OTP for me (although in a platonic, father-daughter way) - just SO sweet. So much love there. Josh Jackson was always the good part of Dawson's Creek for me, and I'm glad Fringe stopped torturing him and letting him be awesome. I figured out that he was Other!Peter a while back - it's going to be heartbreaking when he finally finds out. As for Olivia - people seem to hate her, but I'm not one of them. Love the character, love the actress. *keeping fingers crossed it's not cancelled*
Bones is just so much fun. I want to marry Hodgins a little bit, and the whole cast is just so loveable. Good chemistry is such fun to watch. Plus there's the whole Kirk-and-Spock thing that Booth and Brennan have going on that just tickles me.
Aw, I'm sad that a lot of folks don't like Olivia! :( I've always liked her and she's half the reason I started watching the show (the other half is my adolescent crush on Josh Jackson back in the Mighty Ducks days, but that is neither here nor there). I do tend to focus on the Bishops to her exclusion sometimes, mostly because John Noble is a friggin' AMAZING actor, and I love watching him play Walter.
Walter and Astrid are totally my platonic OTP, too. I adore her "I have no idea why you are making me do this, but I'm going along with it in hopes that it has more to do with the case than it does with a recipe for brownies" face. I hope they give Astrid more screentime at some point, I don't think they've quite given the character as much room as she could make good use of.
Fringe is fantastic. I've been hooked from the beginning. Kind of wish Mytharc of Doom would get more screen time, to be honest, but I know that the showrunners are being very careful to keep it episodic, so that they don't scare away casual viewers.
I'm also curious to see what other powers in Olivia will reawaken, now that she's had an additional dose of Cortexifan. We know that she can also disable electronic devices (the bomb in "ability") and that she can start fires with her mind (two different eps showcased this).
