I think I need a Castiel icon.

BILL: Bobby's in a wheelchair?

ME: Yup.

BILL: And it sounds like he's staying that way?

ME: Sounds like.

BILL: So he's going to become the Winchester boys' version of Oracle?

ME: *snort* Yup. With an entire continent to keep track of instead of just Gotham City.

So, y'all know that I love our boys, yeah? But there's this problem that because I love them so much they cause me a lot of hand-wringing and heartache. My love for Castiel, in contrast, is very simple: I just think he's brilliant and badass and I love that he gets up in Dean's face for smack-talking God when he should know better. Also, I like his style with the ribcage sigils. Very cool.

Rufus! Bitter old coots with guns for the win!

Okay, I'm amused and pleased that "Spirit in the Sky" finally made an appearance on the show, but...did anyone else think that was kind of an odd place for it to turn up, as the boys were walking cautiously into the burned-out town? Huh. Anyway...

Ellen! Never leave us again!! *clings forever* Also, you are my hero for hugging Dean and then smacking him for never calling. *glee*

So I'm impressed and pleased with War and the Biblical omens and the way the town is turned against itself. Nicely done, Sera Gamble.

And the ongoing distrust between the brothers. I mentioned the hand-wringing and heartache earlier, right? Yeah. It kills me to watch Dean look at Sam from half under his eyelids like that, all wary and cold. *sniffles* And the tiny argument between them in the church hallway, where Sam looses it for just a second and shoves Dean? Oh, my heart. Very well played by both Jensen and Jared, there, I thought.

So I'm sad that Jo didn't really get any proper interaction with either of the boys, since I was kind of hoping we'd at least get some inkling of how she feels about Sam. It was over two years ago, but the last time she saw him was still Duluth, when Meg was wearing him and almost killed her. Oh well.

Aaaand the picnic table scene. Ouch. And also very encouraging. This isn't the first time the boys have been split up, but always before this it's been because Sam stormed off with little to no warning, mad and convinced of his own righteousness and self-sufficiency. This time it's an act of humility, with an admission that he's not right, and he's not strong enough. Interesting. I can't wait to see what comes of this. As long as the boys aren't apart for too long and/or there is hugging on the other end of the separation. No, I am not getting off the hugging issue anytime soon. Deal.
