Sam-I-Am was good enough to send me some pictures of the kusudama that I made her for Christmas so that I could show you all what I've been doing with my Sunday afternoons, of late:




I made a few of these for friends and family this year. For most of them I used either plain white paper or pages from a very old compilation volume of Harper's Magazine that was falling apart and needed to be reincarnated or tossed. Sam's is made from pages cut from an old hardback copy of Black House that was being thrown away. The thing I discovered about making ornamental objects out of Steven King novels is that you have to be mindful that none of the bad words end up being visible. One more shot, since Sam sent close-ups:



Sam also sent a shot she got of Mr. Bill (and me, but mostly Mr. Bill) at a wedding we all attended recently:




Yeah, that's my head sticking over his shoulder. I was giving him a squish while we stood in line.
