SPN ep reviews

There are two little boys, maybe ten and eight years old, playing with the pendulum toy on my desk. Their mom is waiting in my lobby for an appointment, and they're actually being remarkably quiet, especially compared to most kids when trapped in my lobby. They're both watching the pendulum very seriously (when nudged, it makes perfectly ( Read more... )

Loved loved LOVED "Jus in Bello." The little points that made me roll my eyes (how the heck did Bela call at just the right time from two states away? That always makes me roll my eyes when someone the phone rings just as someone walks in) were totally overwhelmed by the sheer amount of awesome the episode brought. Henrickson! Nancy! ...The deputy! I don't know his name, but he was still good ( ... )

Interesting take on the "demons lie" angle. Though I'm still going to follow my original thoughts of demons lie. Remember, the best lies have an element of truth ( ... )

Thanks for replying! You bring up points that I'd forgotten. Meg did totally lie about John being dead at first, you're right. So. Um. I totally covered my butt with the "I'm not saying they don't manipulate or that they wouldn't lie if it suited them. They're demons. Default settings is Evil'" disclaimer at the end there ( ... )

Re: the 100s of years to become a demon . . . well, within the show, we only have it from Ruby, but we also have it from Kripke in an interview (I don't remember which one, and I know that Kripke is about as reliable as . . . well . . . anyone who starts killing things off when he gets tired of them . . . but still ( ... )

Even though Ruby said, "Every demon I know" was once a human (or whatever, can't remember the exact quote), I'm going to try hard to believe that here, Ruby was just mistaken or very unpopular or something, because all humans who go to Hell eventually become demons, but not all demons were once human.

I also think that how quickly you become a demon depends a lot on your motivation for selling your soul and who you are. Dean, John--they are not going to give up easily. Or what-his-name, Evan Handler?, who sold his soul for his wife? He was selfless there and that's gotta change things. But other people who did it for less noble reasons, well, I think they'd be easier to corrupt.

But I think I've probably spammed kalquessa's LJ enough for now. ;)

I've really enjoyed this discussion and other comments I've seen by you on other posts, would you mind if I friended you?

Well, thank you. I try to be at least reasonably intelligent with my discussions. :-)

Of course you can friend me. Thank you for asking.

Sooper Seekrit spy cam! *giggles* Or something, Yeah, that's one of those devices that is really kinda silly, but I grew up on action flicks and thrillers, so I've seen it so many times, it didn't even make me blink, here.

Dean's plan--HOMG how awesome was that?

More awesome than a really awesome thing! Color me impressed.

Yay, meta!

I think that Ruby is firmly on Sam and Dean's side, but what demons will do when they're on your side, well...that's where it gets sticky.Oh, I like that. I may need to go chew on that for a bit ( ... )

Yeah, it's something that happens so often in movies and shows, but I just imagine the person calling every five minutes or something, hoping the person is about to walk in. If there are two or more villains, I picture them passing the phone back and forth. "It's your turn to call for an hour." Um. Possibly I'm strange.

Yeah, I did forget about some of the lies demons have told so my bad, but I think Sam and Dean are treading on dangerous territory when they believe that demons lie all the time, just as much as they would be if they believed everything demons said. It's just like everything else--consider the source, try to back it up, use your judgment. Demons lie, but they tell the truth, so don't just reject this information straight out of the gate!

I think I agree with you re. Ruby's motivations.I will be back to talk at you more once you've seen the rest of the episodes! Because I have MORE THOUGHTS on it! And everyone loves my thoughts on yaoi. (Why I can blather ( ... )

This image makes me giggle. If you're strange, at least you have me to be strange with you, I guess.

Because I have MORE THOUGHTS on it!

*cracks up* Okay, will await your thoughts on yaoi with anticipation. I know, I'm totally throwing of everybody's groove by not having seen those last three eps.
