the boys of the NYPD choir were singing "Galway Bay"

  1. Overheard In New York, you do continue to bring the lulz. Oh, Brendon.
  2. I have the most horrible and overwhelming urge to write fic where a band boy bodyswaps with a fangirl. The problem is that it would be universally condemned as a Mary Sue fic, and that wouldn't be entirely wrong. I just think it would be so INTERESTING. The moment when the girl confronts a horde of screaming twelve-year-olds for the first time. The urge to pretend she's not as big of a fan as she obviously is, the discomfort of using the bathroom as a dude, the awkward interactions with the other bandmembers. The moment when the band guy in her body opens her laptop (HAHA OH GOD). Maybe his exploration of her body, his interest in her life, the weird issues that come up there. Of course, it would end up being my love letter and apologia to fandom, because that's pretty much how I roll.
  3. I have at long last reached the point of having a Last.FM that reflects my taste enough to make the recommendations feature useful, which is pretty cool and I'm enjoying it.
  4. My Christmas so far has been, to be totally honest, stressful. But stressful mixed with nice bits. Sweeney Todd was a great movie, even if I did have to cover my eyes for some bits because I'm a giant wimp. My baby nephew is precious precious precious and my baby niece is feisty and adorable. Right now she's taking a nap, and his tiny sweet wide-eyed self is watching me type from across the room. God, I love babies. ♥ ♥ ♥ There's apple crumble in the oven, and the lights are sparkling on the tree, and my family is sitting around on the carpet and couches in front of the fireplace reading. It's not bad. ETA: Although I did manage to peel my finger while making the apple crumble. Owwwww.
  5. I didn't get it together to send the family Christmas card to anyone this year, but this is what it looked like, if you're curious!

    Awwwwwww, my family. ♥
