The Gift
It's around my neck and even now I can't think of taking it off. This is strange for me. I don't normally wear jewelry, earrings are a chore for me. Necklaces feel too tight and it is as if I'm choking. A collar sounds wonderful, but I know I wouldn't be able to handle the constant press of it. This....the chain, the weight, it feels perfect. Like your hands are gently caressing the slope of my neck. The pendant presses against my chest, close to my heart. It feels like you have laid your head there and are just waiting for me to touch you. Wrapping my hand around the pendant makes me feel like I've taken your hand.
