I Want to Believe

Well..it could have been better and it could have been worse.

Let's see...

* Mulder and Scully in bed together, and it only took 17 years to get there!
* The relationship was cute and fit the rest of the film, but as a Shipper, I felt ripped off. We got 7 years of slow-burn tension then skipped straight to the comfortably established relationship. Where's the payoff, damn it?!
* The moment with the Bush photograph? Priceless.
* Some good humor, decent plot. I wish it had been a little more paranormal, but seemed more just weird.
* I kept wanting to give Gillian Anderson a haircut and a cheeseburger. Seriously, she looked better when she wasn't quite so thin.
* Mulder is still hawt. But not with a beard.
* Overall good, but just seemed far more cynical than before. That leads into my rant about how society has forgotten to believe in any sort of possibility or have any sort of faith in something that isn't already proven and how sad it makes me, and also how I wonder if we're heading for another dark age. I miss that feeling of there being belief in possibilities (not necessarily paranormal ones) and, damn it, I'm way too young to feel this nostalgic.
