Mom and Mikee's visit
So my mom and step dad (Mikee) have been visiting us for the Thanksgiving holiday. It has been a very busy couple of days, but lots of fun. As promised, pictures are located here:

They are in order of how things happened while they were here, which is detailed below.
They arrived on Tuesday around 12:30pm and we took them out to lunch at the Big Kahuna which has these delicious pizza sandwiches and cheesy bread.
Wednesday we got ready for Thanksgiving by making the jello mold and two pumpkin pies (which by the way, turned out AWESOME!). We did last minute shopping for the things we would need the next day but that was really about it.
Thursday (Thanksgiving day) the Turkey was in the oven by 9-am (Matt was in charge of that) while mom and I made the deviled eggs, sweet yams with brown sugar and marshmallows, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing. Liv, Clarence, and Noah came over around noon and they brought the green bean casserole and an apple pie. We hung out while things finished up cooking and at 3pm we ate dinner. It was sooo good! The rest of the day was spent just relaxing and hanging out and digesting good food.
Friday, the four of us and Clarence went to Hanauma Bay to go snorkeling. Matt already has a snorkeling set so mom, Mike, and I rented the gear from the Bay. It took me a while to get into the water (I'm a big baby when it comes to cold water, even if its just slightly cold. I'm seriously thinking of getting a body suit that is short sleeves). After I got adjusted to the water, I tried snorkeling some, which is still weird for me, but I think I finally got the hang of it. I had to switch goggles with Matt though, the cuz the ones I got from the Bay were too big on me and I kept getting water in my goggles :( But we saw lots of fish but none of the really brightly colored ones unfortunately. It was still really cool to do and look at. When we got out of the water we realized it was raining, plus we were exhausted so we headed back home for showers and relaxing before taking a driving tour around the island.
Matt took us to Pali lookout point, which has pretty scenery and then we went up to North Shore where we saw HUGE WAVES (sorry, no pics of those) and then got shaved ice at the General Store. We got home about 3 hours later and just relaxed after that for the rest of the night.
Saturday, we met up with Clarence, Liv, Noah, and two other people, Anthony and Rebecca, to hang around at one of the beaches by our house and also go surfing. I still haven't tried surfing and I still dont want too, but MIke, Matt, Clarence, Liv, Anthony and Rebecca went in. Mom and I watched Noah. Liv was done after about 15-20 minutes because she was exhausted followed shortly by Clarence, Anthony (who's feet were cut up by coral) and then Rebecca. The two still left were Matt and Mikee. Mikee actually caught a wave and stood on the board rode it all the way to shore! We didn't see him though so no pictures of that :(
Matt was able to get on his knees a few times but was mainly having trouble getting any type of waves. Once everyone was out of the water we packed up and went home for lunch. We lazied around the rest of the day and then the four of us went to the movies to see Role Models, which was actually quite funny :)
Today, Sunday, I took Mom and Mikee to the swap meet. We were only there for less then an hour. It was sooooo hot and even though there are tons of booths and we only made it about 1/3rd of the way around, the booth start repeating. We got a few things (Christmas presents for family members mostly) and then headed back home. AFter lunch the four of us went to the Mall because my mom wanted to get Matt and I a food saver as a "house warming" gift.. but they didn't cary them at the Macy's here, even though their website has it. The Mall was packed as was Best Buys so we just went home and called it a day. So for the rest of today we've just been watching TV and relaxing.
Tomorrow, Mom and Mikee are going to Pearl Harbor alone to take the tours and stuff (Matt and I already did this so we opted not to go). After they return they will basically be doing laundry and packing up because they leave early on Tuesday morning.
Oh, and the whole time they have been here, I have been off of work :) They finally got someone for me to be my backup so I was able to take off the requested days.
Tuesday night, Dad, Lucy and Joey arrive but we wont see them until Wednesday (since they get in late and Matt and I both go to bed early). They will be renting their own car cuz they will be going with Joey and his team around the island doing stuff, and doing the tourist thing, so Matt and I will be getting a break on that kind of stuff. Wednesday night, Joey has a game in which he pitches in so I am going to try and get out of work at decent time so we can go see that. The rest of the time will probably just be hanging out in the evenings with them and whatnot.
