I used to have a metal detector and found a couple of old pennies when i was a lad. Finding old stuff is cool!!!

I think we soaked it in white vingar to get the crusty green stuff off, incase yours is covered in crusty green stuff :P

finding stuff is very cool. i better not get a metal detector or i will become obsessed. also there are innumerable big rusty nails too so garden would be full of dissappointments :p

You can set the metal detector to only non-ferrous so you only find gold and stuff!!!

I didn't find much gold in the garden...

Im excited for you and your penny! I used to find loads of stuff in my parents garden, as its a Victorian house, and they used the end of the garden as a rubbish dump - we found lots of broken china dolls, and pipes and things, its really exciting! Once in Scotland at the site of an old spring I found a silver sixpence from 1816. I have always wanted a metal detector too, but I knew I would get obsessed too if I had one!

I used to have a metal detector. My dad borrowed it for work, and i think he burried it by accident or something. He has a habit of doing that kind of thing...
